The Loan Officer/Mortgage Broker
Actively working by your side to find the best loan programs, terms and rates for you. When going through the loan approval process, they gather and verify your information such as employment, credit and other income records. Once you apply for a loan, a GFE or Good Faith Estimate will be given to you. A GFE details all the costs associated with the purchase/financing of your home as well as your monthly payments.
The Appraiser compares the home you're looking to purchase to similar homes in neighborhood that have sold to determine fair market value.
Once the report is forwarded to your loan officer, it will be included in your file for review.
Once you're under contract to purchase a home, you have the option of choosing to have a home inspection. The inspection is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of the property and will include any current problems that may exist and/or code violations.
The Attorney makes sure that all papers that to secure your home are signed and executed legally so that title can be transferred.
Lock-In
An agreement in which the lender guarantees a specified interest rate for a certain amount of time at a certain cost.
Lock-In Period
The time period during which the lender has guaranteed an interest rate to a borrower.
